« Over the next year, the Government will conduct a review of Canada’s international assistance policy framework. This review will include consultations with Canadians and international aid organizations to ensure that all perspectives are heard. The outcomes of the review will inform Budget 2017, and will take into account the Government’s international priorities as well as domestic considerations. »

« Today, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, announced the Tackling Poverty Together Project which will inform the development of new Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy. This project will consist of conducting case studies in six communities to provide a regional perspective as well as a broader understanding of poverty in communities across the country. It will also allow the Government to hear directly from Canadians living in poverty and learn from organizations who deliver poverty reduction programs. »

« On May 18, 2016 the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie announced a public review and consultations to renew Canada’s international assistance policy and funding framework. The new framework will help to refocus  Canada’s international assistance on helping the poorest and most vulnerable people, and supporting fragile states. It will also determine Canada’s approach internationally to supporting the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. We engaged a wide range of Canadians and international partners, including Canadian NGOs, donor and partner governments, youth, people in developing countries, and experts in the field of international assistance. »
