"As a first step, Budget 2016 proposes to provide early strategic funding for clean technology projects to take advantage of this growth opportunity and enhance environmental performance, which are outlined in the following sections. To support future investments, Budget 2016 proposes to provide over $1 billion over four years, starting in 2017–18, to support clean technology, including in the forestry, fisheries, mining, energy and agriculture sectors."

"Canada’s Natural Resources Minister, the Honourable Jim Carr, today announced the Government of Canada is seeking proposals for projects under the $25-million Clean Energy Innovation Program, which will bring clean energy technologies closer to commercialization.
