This Special Session has been called for the purpose of considering legislation which, if approved and enacted, will enable my Government to make provision for the raising of revenue through the medium of the imposition and collection of personal income tax and corporation income tax to replace that provided by the terms of the agreement made under The Taxation Agreement Act, 1957, and further consider any other legislation necessary at this time. May you apply yourselves assiduously to the task before you, ever aware of a Divine Spirit working on your behalf.
